The Geograph website covers all of the UK and Ireland, it lets you see what is on your doorstep as the project has photographed every 1km grid square of the country, including the islands! I've used it to check out stuff within a walk/cycle from my house and come across loads of things I never knew existed. Just zoom the map to where you are and check out what's around the corner from you!
You probably know how much we love maps and going out to explore places, so this resource is a gem! This interactive map is easy to use- click on the “Maps” tab on the left had side and zoom to your location. You can zoom in with the mouse, touch pad or click "+” button at the the top left corner.
In the top right corner click “layers” symbol and the drop down menu will appear, choose option “Photo Thumbnails” to view images of places for more ideas, as shown on the image below.
