The city walk in Paris #2
I'm a great supporter of the idea of 'slow living'. To live in the moment and to be present. Sometimes it's hard to put this idea in practice, especially, if you're like me, living in a busy, noisy city with never-ending 'to do' lists. But I'm trying. I like to apply this approach both to my everyday life routine and to my travel experiences.
One of the best memories from the trip was our accommodation, we rented a boat on the river Sienna right in city center. To have accommodation in the center of the town is vital for me. It just makes the whole experience a lot more flexible and unique. Our day would begin on the boat's terrace with a cup of coffee and fresh bakery.
Jardin des Tuileries
What I really liked about the park is that it had individual seating. One can find the desired location and enjoy it for as long as you want. If you fancy shade under the tree, or to be next to the fountain, or to get a sun-kissed look, just grab a chair and have a seat in your perfect spot. Ideal.
The Pompidou Centre is one of my favorite places to go every time I visit Paris. Its magnetic architecture and environment, the vibe, the unique style - the exhibition spaces, the views from the top floor over the Parisian roofscape and the mojito in the bar. The space that provokes creativity and inspiration to me. Arguably it's the best square in Paris.
Musee D'Orsay
We were escaping the heat in museums. Every first Sunday of the month you can visit any museum in Paris for free. We happened to be just during the first week of June and used this opportunity to visit Musee D'Orsey. Outstanding space with many interesting exhibitions. And if you're not a museum person at all, that clock at the very top floor is absolutely outstanding!
And just waking Parisian streets is an aesthetically pleasing adventure in itself. Walking to the corners of main roads and to see the contrasts of city are my favourite parts of the adventure.
